Sajama High Camp | Trevor Stuart Elevating Lives

There’s a good path most of the way from base camp to high camp, though the last 100 vertical metres are quite steep and on loose scree.

Although it is not technically demanding to climb Sajama its high altitude (High Camp is at 5,620 m; the summit is 6,542m), icy conditions, and a high probability of cold winds make the peak more challenging than it initially appears.

Sajama Base Camp is relatively small, with three locations good for medium sized mountaineering tents and a couple of other locations suitable for small tents. Although it’s in a rocky clearing, the snowline is nearby, so ‘water’ is only a few steps away.

Please support Trevor’s efforts to raise $250,000 to help end family violence by donating at his YWCA Lethbridge & District donation page!
